About

Overview

The Timonium Optimist Club was founded in June 1957 and has been serving the youth of our area ever since. We are a chartered club of Optimist International (OI), part of Zone 9 of the Maryland-South Delaware Optimist District (MDSD). The Timonium Optimist Club and Foundation are recognized as a tax-exempt, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

The club implements on a local level a number of programs endorsed by Optimist Internatwional, but the club also conducts its own local projects to meet the unique needs of our nearby communities. Through fundraising efforts and direct programming, the club has a positive effect on the lives of hundreds of young people each year.

The Timonium Optimist Club sometimes combines efforts with other Optimist Clubs or other service groups and organizations in the community to leverage our impact. For example, we interact with local public and private schools, the Baltimore County Police and Fire Departments, the Police Athletic League and the Lutherville-Timonium Recreation Council.
